The Most Wonderful Thing About Tigger...

It is important that we find the courage to live the life we were meant to live even if it seems a bit silly to others.
When I was 30 years old I got a tattoo of Tigger on my arm. The idea of a tattoo came to me years earlier but it was important to me that, if I was going to leave a lasting impression on my body, it needed to have meaning for me. It took nearly 3 years to come up with the exact image, the exact pose and the exact expression.
Why Tigger? The answer is somewhat more complicated than the one I’m going to give you but, in its simplest form, it’s serves as a reminder.
I’ve always been a huge fan of Walt Disney. Here’s a man who had little or no drawing ability but, through masterful vision and leadership, he built an empire that spans generations and continues to inspire.
My favourite Disney character is Tigger. He bumbles and giggles his way through life layering mishaps on top of mistakes on top of good intentions and yet he is deeply loved by the others in 100 Acre Woods. Why?
Because, “the most wonderful thing about Tigger is I’m the only one”. The tattoo I put on my arm representing Tigger reminds me that each of us is an unique individual, the likes of which the world has never seen before and will never see again. When we are gone – we’re gone.
And because of that, it is important that we live our lives to the fullest and step into the magnificence that we were born to step into.
The fear that makes us live our lives “not to lose” rather than live our lives “to win” has devastating results not only on ourselves but on the lives we were meant to influence.
Bumbling our way through life can reap more rewards than not doing anything at all. A series of mishaps leads to richer adventures than not setting foot outdoors. A long list of mistakes is always found lying beside a long list of rich experiences but a list of not trying lays alone.
At the end of the day, everyone around you will love you for exactly the person you are and you will love yourself for the person you’re meant to be.
Remember that the most wonderful thing about YOU is YOU’RE the only one!
