In any conversation you must a have clear understanding of who you are. Your ROLE, your PURPOSE and your OUTCOME. Our roles can be a Manager, teacher, parent, or friend. Understanding my ROLE helps me see my position in conversation, sets healthy boundaries and lessens the possibilities of creating conflict or being misunderstood. My PURPOSE can be to encourage, challenge, comfort or give direction. Understanding my purpose works as compass to keep you pointed in the right direction and reach a desired goal. Its important to remember everyone has a level of influence. The desired OUTCOME can be to connect, bring improvement, change or resolve. All of these should bring about two things. In personal relationships it should strengthen the bond and in a workplace environment it should bring stability and productivity.
Communication is a tool, it is something that is developed in anyone’s life…..
but it does require work.
