There are two kinds of ways in which we try to introduce change. The first is an externally induced change and the second is internally induced change. Externally induced change is the one where the participants are shown what needs to be done and asked to replicate exactly the same. In many scenarios, this includes making the role model larger than life by creating an aura and then drive the lessons of what an ordinary person should do.
An alternate way may be to induce an internal change. This is a change inspired from within that encourages a person to push himself beyond the boundaries of ordinary.
Internal change is not new. History is replete with examples of leaders who have risen from being a no body to then changing the world to be a better place. Scriptures capture it, the Indian epics of Ramayana, Mahabharata have stories of ordinary becoming extraordinary driven by Internal Change.
History captures it. Internal change transformed a lawyer making him father of a nation and giving the world its largest peaceful freedom movement. This is not the only example. Martin Luther King, Benjamin Franklin, Neilson Mandela and a lot of other world leaders are inspired by Internal change.
Can Internal Change be driven systemically within an employee of an organization?
I believe every person carries an internal power within. This power has the potential to change his life, of a community, company, country or world. It is possible to drive Internal Change and help create leaders who move an organization from ordinary to extra ordinary.
