Coaching Approach
Both in business and in life, no matter how smart, intelligent or creative we are, we need a path to go through, a process to obey, to achieve our goals and overcome the obstacles we face.
Our coaching approach is based on a chain. The rings of the chain are flexible and allow for innovation. PLANET coaching model is composed of six rings, namely;
PLAN
• Establish the Strategic Objectives and commit to them
• Ensure complete awareness of the current situation with open mindedness.
• Identify the issues and problems encountered.
• Establish SMART Objectives and commit to them
• Break down SMART Objectives into finite targets.
• Determine the constraints; organization vision, mission, culture, values, beliefs, code of ethics and legalities.
• Establish output expectation based on the completeness and accuracy of the specifications as well as the targeted improvement.
• Create trust in the work place and hold yourself and the team members accountable.
• Creatively set the processes necessary to deliver results in accordance with the expected output. Have confidence in the process, yourself and your team. Commit to the process.
• Assign, with confidence, the resources and time frame to specific actions as well as the responsibilities.

• Compare against the expected results (targets or goals from the “PLAN”) to ascertain any differences.
• Analyse the results with open mindedness.
• Look for deviations in implementation from the initial plan
• Look for the appropriateness and completeness of the plan to enable the execution.
• Inquire for trends with the aid of emotional intelligence.
• Convert data into information.
• Information is what is needed for the next step “Think & Touch up”
Think & Touch UP
• Be open-minded and don’t start with pre-conceptions. Commit to open mindedness by heart.
• Put in place development plans for yourself, your team and the whole organization. Commit to these plans. Have bye ins from the team on these plans.
• Touch up high in the sky. This should not be just client satisfaction. It is client delight that you should be committed to.
For the coaching approach to follow this model with success;
• The coach needs to be fully present, mindful and aware of the client needs and the whole situation.
• The coach and the client will synchronize, performing on the same wave length to ensure harmony.
• It is the coach’s effectiveness, through multi-dimensional listening, emotional intelligence, powerful and appreciative inquiry, that helps the client dig deep inside and come up with his own solution.
• Within the coaching process, the coach acknowledges the client for his actions/achievements as a means of support, recognition and motivation.
