3 ways to change your habits

We always tend to complain about our habits especially if they break us down. Wouldn’t it be great to create consistent and predictable behaviour?
We always tend to complain about our habits especially if they break us down. Wouldn’t it be great to create consistent and predictable behaviour that empowers us? Well, it turns out that you can, once you know your triggers! We become very happy once we align ourselves to our true nature.
You are 1 in 400 trillion – congratulations! Yes the odds of you being alive statistically speaking is a miracle. But most people are just “existing” day to day, rather than really living the life they deserve.
RULE 1 – You have 5 seconds to respond
When you have an impulse to do something, you have 2 choices: 1) act on it immediately, or 2) do nothing. For example, your alarm goes off at 6AM, and your impulse is “I should get up”. BUT you hit the snooze button repeatedly. Why? You have an inner conflict – your bed is comfortable and warm, but you know you should work out 3 days a week.
Well, you have 5 seconds to respond to your alarm, and to get up and move. Why? Because your brain will find every excuse why you “need” to sleep in. You will rationalise your way out of it – most people do, and feel their life may be out of control.
My challenge to you – set your alarm, when it rings, get up immediately, drink some water, put your sneakers on and go for a walk, rationalise on the way! Don’t give your mind the opportunity to talk you out of it! You will feel back in control again.
RULE 2 – FORCE yourself
The biggest confession you will make is that you’re feeling “fine” with your life right? Not as amazing as you want it, but not so bad that it needs to change now. This is no man’s land!
At Creator Of Change Life Coaching, we believe “change happens in a heartbeat!” the second we FORCE ourselves, so it becomes a must. However, generally speaking, nobody wants to change anything. Seriously, who wants to go on a diet? Who wants to run 20KM? Who wants to study for exams? Nobody, because it requires effort, and we may fail.
FORCING yourself out of your comfort zone is always rewarding as you have reached a new level or new standard in life! And this is where you stop existing, and start living…you become part of the 1 in 400 trillion miracles that are truly enjoying life.
RULE 3 – Consistency will make you a master!
But reaching a standard in life is one thing, but how do we stay there? Consistency my friend. In my experience, if you’re not getting consistent results, for example, in eating the right foods, and you’ve gone back to eating junk food, or drinking heaps of coffee, this tells me you have an emotional need that is not being met. And this need cannot be filled with food, I assure you. We can help you identify this need with emotional mastery coaching.
Emotions are the fuel of life!
Success leaves clues. Once you achieve a certain standard, and you have no inner conflicts to deal with, you notice a specific result. This result inspires you to take more action, which produces better results, which then inspires you to keep going in a set path.
Remember, you are 1 in 400 trillion – you’re more unique than you think! It’s time to live a life that has habits which truly reflect the person you were born to be.
