While all management books are talking about Plan, Plan and Plan, why is it so important to plan simple, act first and then add details.
While all management books are talking about Plan, Plan and Plan, why is it so important to plan simple, act first and then add details.
Let us take a story of Mungerilal and Banwarilal (famous characters of my dear friend Rahul Majithia). Both were in project management consultancy business. They both decide to make it big in life. Mungerilal immediately went to the drawing board and started listing down all the things required to be done to make it big in life. He had the entire plan ready. Same was the case with Banwarilal.
The only difference between both of them was Mungerilal was a detailed oriented person. Meaning, he did not like surprises. Before setting out, he wanted everything to be planned, listed, mitigated. So he got on the drawing board planning and replanning.
At the same time, Banwarilal was smart. He immediately actioned upon his plan. Took baby steps. This helped him two ways. One he was able to see some results. Second he had started to believe in his mind that whatever he says, he can do it.
As the story goes, 20 years later, Banwarilal had achieved most of his goals while Mungerilal was still on his drawing board.
It is very important to act fast. Because it prepares the mind to accept and work upon your thoughts. So what are you waiting for?
Grab the pen and start writing the book you always wanted to.
