30-Something, Single & Fabulous

I am more than my age. I am more than my gender. I can do great things. And so can you :)
I am a 31 year old woman. I have a master’s degree. I am an entrepreneur. I make a mean chicken Marsala. I have saved lives. I am single. I have no children and don’t intend on having any in the future.
Now, how many of you instantly judged me solely on those last two sentences? How many of you thought, “Oh I’m so sorry, don’t worry, you’ll find someone.” It’s okay if that’s the thought that ran through your head; society has programed us to think that way, but some of us aren’t looking to earn our “MRS.”
I am not defined by my romantic relationship to another human being. I am not afraid of being single. I do not want children. And I know I’m not alone. This is not a new concept; it’s just one the mainstream doesn’t like. I am smart, I am determined, and I am passionate about my life. I make no apologies for this. Neither should you.
My inspiration for this post is Melanie Notkin, a best-selling author, speaker, and inspiration who addresses these topics in depth. If you are a single, successful, and bad-ass woman who stands on her own, I highly recommend checking out Ms. Notkin’s work.
