The Model of Your World

Had coffee with a dear friend. We both sat there feeling somewhat stressed, out of sorts, and wondering just how our lives turned out the way it did. Not really about feeling unfulfilled and blah. Just different than we imagined when we were teenagers.
My friend chewed through how her kids live their lives. Her hopeful and gentle desire is to express a want and a need for her kids to see the light, to see that it’s time to find stability with a career, even consistent employment, or to go to college or university, etc. What parent doesn’t want to express this for their kids?
As we sat there listening to each other, I turned into coaching mode with this one question:
“Why is it that you really need to see your kids do and become everything you think they should become?”
I invite you to explore and experiment with this question as you go about your daily experiences with your kids.
This question actually stopped my friend in her tracks. Giving her some silent space to absorb this question, she realized at that moment that it was really a desire to have her kids see her model of the world.
Growth meets Diversity
Who among us is still in the growing up phase and finding their life path and purpose in the world? Our kids or ourselves? I believe it’s both.
As my friend and I left the coffee house, I pondered this more as I drove back to the office. As parents, we want every opportunity for our kids that we didn’t have.
Hmmm, didn’t our parents say that to us as well? Did we really follow their suggestions, or better still, urgings? Or did we dream on to live our own adventure, our own purpose? And if we decided to follow our parents’ life/business path, how are we fairing to this day?
Each of us sees the world differently, and how inspirational to have this diversity. We as individuals can pick and choose what we want to become, even if it means feeling like we are starting over and over again, no matter what our age.
I am particularly intrigued by those of you who have entered into mid-life (I’ve just entered into the 50’s era). For me personally, this is becoming a wonderful, transformational decade to experience. I am now experiencing a refreshing new era where I can transform my life and business, once again, to suit my new experiences and knowledge.
I myself have finally discovered what I want to be when I grow up – a life/business coach. So the next process is discovering whom I most connect with out there where I can share my knowledge and support as a life/business coach?
To begin, I enjoy the support of other women business owners and will reach out to women with kids and a household to run, marveling at how they can do it all, and actually seeing the value they put in receiving non-judgmental and objective support. Hey! That’s what I offer as a life/business coach!
As well, women who are in transition mode within their life and business aspirations. Women who are beginning to take another look at their world as it is now and what it could possibly become.
Possibility meets Inspiration
If you can look at your model of the world and see what inspired you to reach the point you are at in your life right now, no matter what your age; to see the possibilities and adventures you have experienced, or about to experience, you just might come up with a profound story and a beautiful image of your life and/or business.
The ups and downs, the challenges and the victories, are what strengthen your resolve to move you forward. And when you feel you are stuck, use this time as reflection and view what your life and/or business could look like, again.
Be open to transform and inspire yourself to make adjustments that serve your higher purpose, and further expand your possibilities. The resources are within you to create, transform and inspire what you want.
Your Model of the World
This is unique to you. It’s unique to me, and to the kids. It is always transforming; spiraling ever upward as you grow and gain more knowledge. How could what you dreamed of 25 years ago possibly stay the same as you continually grow and expand your experiences and knowledge? Use this expansion to inspire your life and/or business to serve your best possible outcome.
