What is the difference between coaching and counseling?
Coaching is a dialogue between the coach and the client that is empowering to assist the client in becoming clear about what he or she wants. It is a partnering with thought-provoking questions and a safe container for a creative process that inspires each client to maximize their potential.
Whereas, counseling is generally sought for therapy during a crisis or distress about a problem or situation that may need to be healed. Therapy usually takes a client from an unhealthy state and brings he or she to a neutral or positive state.
So, the difference between coaching and counseling is that coaching is about doing and being better or more productive; counseling on the other hand, is about healing and moving into the present.
