Being Your Authentic "Self" Can Make You Rich

Oprah Winfrey said, “I had no idea that being my authentic self could make me as rich as I’ve become. If I had, I’d have done it a lot earlier.”
When you think about Oprah’s success in life, do you think that she had some kind of advantage in life that less successful people didn’t? Have you ever thought about what it would be like to be Oprah?
Just think, you could:
~ Buy anything you want
~ Go anywhere you want
~ People would definitely take your phone calls!
Hmm, so… what is stopping you from going after the success you want in your own life? Are you living every day as your authentic self or do you find yourself wishing you could live someone else’s life?
Every person has a story, some stories enrich our lives and some stories are full of limiting beliefs that hold us back from reaching our true potential.
When we tell ourselves that we can do, be or have anything we want, that is a story that moves us toward success in our life.
When we tell ourselves that we will never make enough money, we will never be healthy, we don’t fit in, we will never be good enough, or we will never find the right partner; these stories and others like it, hold us back from our true potential.
When you see someone who you think is successful, what is your first thought? Is it:
- WOW – she is so lucky, I wish I could be more like her
- Humph, she isn’t so special – all she does is talk about how wonderful everything is in her life. No one is THAT happy, they MUST be hiding something
- Gosh, she must have had really awesome parents for her to turn out so well. She is really lucky!
The truth is, we all have the power to succeed in life!
More often than not, the only thing holding us back are the stories we tell ourselves about why we CAN’T do something instead of concentrating on why we CAN do something
My Story…
Growing up, my 2 constant companions were FEAR & ANXIETY! My fear came from constant anger and abuse from my parents and the anxiety came from trying so hard to be good so their anger and abuse would be directed to someone else instead of me!
I was never very successful at keeping them from being angry and abusive towards me, but I got very good at blaming myself for “not being good.”
My mother would often look me straight in the face and say,
You’re nothin!
You’ll always be nothin!
You think you’re so special? Well you’re not – you’re nothin!
At one point I finally got it, I accepted that I was nothin, that I was worthless and that I would never amount to anything. It was really hard for me to understand why I had been born. I used to cry and ask God why I was still alive if I was so worthless. And then I would cry more because he never answered me!
Soon, feeling worthless became my belief and
My belief became my habits
And my habits gradually became the story that my subconscious believed to be true
Over the years, this truth became my story of who I thought I was and what I could OR COULD NOT could accomplish in my life.
When a child is told something often enough, he or she soon believes it to be truth.
My truths included:
I am worthless
I am nothing
I will always be nothing
I am poor
I am hungry
I am stupid
Because I am a girl, men will always push me down and take advantage of me if I ever get too big for my britches
When I was in my twenties, there was an event in my life that was a total “game changer” for me. This event helped me to look at who I thought I was in a different way. The story that I had been telling myself my whole life began to change. Today, I show other people how to change their story. How to eliminate the limiting beliefs that are holding them back from the the success they want in their life.
Not everyone is ready to change their story but if you are one of the many people who has decided its time to change your story, CLICK HERE to listen to why I decided to Come Out and how I changed my story.
