Learn To Depend On Yourself For Opportunities And For Better Health.
St. Patrick’s Day is a day when people traditionally strive to improve their lot in life by hoping to encounter lucky charms and leprechauns. They assume that if the stars and planets line up correctly then their lucky break will occur.
This tendency to look outside ourselves for opportunities, happiness and better health can result in us missing out on our dreams because it can encourage us to not be proactive. We should remember that when it comes to getting what we want in life, we are in more control of our destiny than we realize.
For example, if we want a better job, then it makes sense to not only gather our courage, but to develop a plan to seek a better job rather than simply to complain about the job we have now that we don’t like, and to hope for a better one to fall into our laps.
The same can be said about our health. If want to lose weight, reduce our stress levels, or improve any other area of our well-being, we must realize there is no magic pill to take that will make this transformation worthwhile. However, with steadfast effort on our part we can make positive changes occur that are long-lasting.
In other words, instead of waiting for opportunity to come knocking on our door, why not do the knocking ourselves.
