How to achieve your dream: a successful, fulfilling, & lucrative career

Do you feel like you are stuck in Groundhog Day, living the same day over and over again? To escape, first you have to know where you are going.

In order to achieve a successful and fulfilling career and life, you have to know where you are going. That requires getting clear on exactly what you want, setting strong goals and implementing a workable plan to create the future you desire. But, before we get into all that, let’s first take a look at an example of how a life without clarity, goals and a plan leads to inevitable disappointment.
Let’s say you have spent the last two years of your life working at a job you hate. You wake up miserable every morning of the week,and drag your feet throughout the entire day. When you get home you zone out in front of the TV or computer, counting down the hours until you have to do it all over again. When your friends and family ask how the job is going, you tell them you hate it. When they ask you what you would like to do instead, you haven’t the slightest idea.
In this scenario you know you are miserable, but you haven’t yet discovered what would make you happy. The problem is, without knowing what you really want out of life, you are destined to continue on the path you are on. In this example it is going through the motions at a job you hate. In order to interrupt the cycle you have to do something different, discover what you want and set goals to create the life and career you desire.
The key to effective goal setting is to know exactly what success means to you. For example, does success look like financial security, a pension and great benefits? Or does it look like the high risk and reward of running your own business? Do you want a lot of responsibility at work or a little? Do you want to work from home or in an office? Discover exactly what you want out of work and life. Once you are clear on that, we can create a step-by-step plan to turn the dream that you envision into your reality.
