Change Your Thoughts. Change Your Life.

If you can think it and believe it's truly possible, you CAN create it!
How would your life be different if believed you could manifest your dreams into reality?
Where would you live?
What kind of partner would you choose?
What work would you do and how much would it pay you?
How would the world see you and what impact would you have in this lifetime?
Much of my own life’s transformation has been focused on my mind’s power to manifest change. It all started with an Oprah episode about “The Secret,” which as many of you may know, is based on the Law of Attraction. From there, I watched the movie, which then turned into hosting a “Manifestation Party” where a few girlfriends got together to watch the movie – then created our own dream boards.
While I believed in the principles, I wasn’t practicing them regularly. Because life gets in the way, right? Our routines and old patterns keep us on autopilot and steer us away from our new awareness.
Yet little by little I started to notice slight changes because I would still walk by that dream board every day. My thoughts on those visions shifted life ever so slightly. And in some ways, flipped me upside down.
So let’s fast-forward…to the present day. How has my life changed because of my belief that I could manifest change that began 5 years ago?
I survived 2 job losses (and 4 moves)
Lost 30 lbs (and kept it off!)
Quit smoking
Met a wonderful man and got married
Purchased a second home
And started a brand new career that’s building every day
ALL BECAUSE I BELIEVED I COULD!
You see that’s the real game-changer. Sure you might be able to imagine it, but unless you believe you’re worthy of it, that it could happen, and that you hold the power to make it happen – it never will.
Now I know you can all relate to this next piece of the puzzle…that little voice that creeps in to dash our dreams. The naysayer. We’ve all done it. We’ll create a powerful vision that we’d like to manifest only to have that doubting side of us come in and say, “that would never happen,” “yeah right (sarcasm),” or “I am who I am. I’m not going to change.”
Your words are manifesting your reality. Period. Anyone who’s received an email from me has seen the Buddha quote, “All that we are is a result of what we have thought.” And I believe it.
We are all human and we ALL need a good reminder of how important this piece is because it’s so easy to slip off track. We’ve been conditioned for caution and disbelief.
So, if you want to manifest change there are 7 key ingredients:
Have the awareness that change is needed.
Be clear and detailed about the change you want.
Believe that you can manifest the change – this is the most important ingredient!
Bask in the emotions of how you would feel as if it’s already happened – this will amplify the message you’re sending out to The Universe to support you.
Create a regular practice that will keep you connected to your dreams and on track with your thoughts.
Recognize that negative voice when it pops up and immediately replace it with your vision and belief in it.
If you can’t quiet that pesky voice – reach out for support!
Let’s create a manifestation practice together. For the next 30 days, let’s take 2-3 minutes each morning and night to use the power of our minds to change our lives with our thoughts. I’ll use my weight loss goal as an example of what it looks like in practice, but you can insert any goal or dream you have.
Remember one key is to be clear and detailed about the goal. My remaining weight loss has more to do with creating an athlete’s body, becoming strong and fit so I’ll be very intentional with what that means to me.
Before getting out of bed, I’m going to close my eyes, take a few deep breaths and imagine myself as that athlete.
I step out of my current body and into my ideal state. I bask in the feelings of what it’s like to be that strong and that lean. I imagine how easy movement is. I revel in the emotions created when I realize I’m at my most fit at 40.
I imagine how my day will be different as this new person. I’ll make the best food choices possible. I’ll be excited for my workouts. I’ll act with a new level of confidence.
I’ll remind myself this is the state I was meant to be in all along and I will stay in that body in my mind’s eye before opening my eyes.
Before falling asleep at night, again I’ll close my eyes, take a few deep breaths and I’ll ground myself again in that image and the emotions and stay in the body as I rest for the night.
You can insert any goal here. The key is to experience it as if it’s already happened.
