Here a story of how things are connected through vision. This tale shows how powerful thoughts & feeling can be. Lesson number 1 in coaching.
This is an incredible tale that I love to share with my clients.
It is a story of life, of near-death experience, of iron will, of how things are connected to each other through energy. This tale shows how powerful thinking can be. How powerful our energy can be.
We bought a small money tree 4 years ago when we were penniless opening our first restaurant. It was indeed a small little tree, but we nurtured it with the same strength, determination, belief with which we built the walls of the restaurant. We felt as if our business was connected to this tree— which started flourishing, growing, big, and then bigger. The tree reached the ceiling, we had to trim it. The restaurant was (and still is) sold out almost every evening, no matter which season we are in. The tree did not give up and kept reaching the ceiling. We had to move it to another corner of the house. It was the moment in which we opened our second location.
Then, I bought a small money tree for my husband. This time the tree was connected to our lives, to our love, to our health — not to the business. But I did not know. We were so busy with both restaurants and my coaching, we did not have time for ourselves anymore. We forgot the importance of being together and we ended up just living together. We got caught in the frenzy of working 24/7, no time off, not leisure time at all. The tree started to lose its leaves. The trunks were getting discolored and dry. One after the other the newly born skinny branches fell on the ground. “I could not understand…the restaurant is going well, numbers are good: Why are you dying?”
I started being so upset and discouraged in looking at the money tree collapsing even if we were following the green thumb rules. Summer was almost over, we worked ourselves until exhaustion. I felt my head so full of thoughts and worries that I thought:“If I add one more thought in my head, it will explode.” I stopped sleeping, I slept feeling awake. Horrible feeling. My body was consuming itself even when I was resting. My heart was consuming itself longing for my lost love, my husband, my noble lover. My eyes ached looking at the miserable money tree.
Finally, at the end of August, we bought our 1st house — the house of our dream and vision. We manifested our house. We moved everything, even the dying money tree. A few days after the moving, we called the landscapers, the wonderful Christian & Kristi. These 2 wonderful human beings had survived respectively: 1 deadly accident in Mexico, and cancer. The energy these two spread cannot be described by words.
When they saw the dying money tree, they asked me what happened to the poor thing:“I don’t know, we did everything right with it, but it seemed we failed. But I had not the courage to throw it away.” “We will take care of it. Give it to us”.
A few days later, we left for our vacation in Italy. Finally time to breathe and look at things from literally another angle: the old continent! It was a vacation of deep thinking, great food, lots of love. Love of family, friends, our Country.
Guido and I finally reconnected. We look at each other eyes, not just at each other. We spent time alone and with our little boy, who summarizes the perfection of an imperfect yet pure love.
We came home, our lovely home, 3 weeks later: energized, happy, with the desire to live and work loving the life and enjoying the work. Christian and Kristi came to visit and keep working in our garden. With our awe and incredulous eyes, they brought back our money tree: alive, green, in good company of another little money tree that helped the dying one to get better. I could not believe my eyes. “It has not been easy. It seemed it did not want to live. But we did not give the chance to die.”
One very important thing in my coaching is the belief that a client has in his/her power, and how his/her energy affects the reality around. Our thoughts, our feelings do have an impact of things, people, and reality in general. That is why it is crucial to work on what we think, how we feel, how we associate things — consciously or unconsciously - One must give things the chance to live- as Christian has said.
This tale of life & survival is an example of how things are connected to each other through our feelings and thoughts. Through coaching, we can learn how to create a vision, how to modify a belief, how to organize our thoughts in order to live the life that we deserve and expect to live. We can have control over things and their destiny, as long as we do have control on us.
Since I learnt my lesson, I bought my very first orchid. She is doing splendid so far.
