Management, the structure and systems of a successful business

How to manage those ideal clients?
In a previous article, we have talked about the “getting clients” part of the Whole coach system.
What were the results of your fieldwork from Part 1?
Now what do you do with the clients?
Well, let’s call this section, SYSTEMS TIME!
I have been fortunate to have an affinity for systems. Included in that realization is the fact that life is a big system. And so is your business!
I have always held a grand theory that every business is about 90% management and therefore, 10% content.
For coaches (and many businesses) this translates into 10% coaching and 90% marketing and management.
Now, before you get all tied up with that statement, I am not speaking about time but rather about effort.
Although both need and use and systems, this section will be about the 90%.
By the time you have clients, which for most of us was when we were in coach training, you have scrambled to get the pieces needed to cement the agreement, confirm the details of the engagement, schedule and prepare the client, to name but a few elements.
I remember floundering with the many different parts and pieces of how to engage and maintain my client relationships.
Thankfully, I had the support of my coaching school teachers and colleagues as well as my business background.
But, it was still a mad scramble to get everything I needed to support the business side of my coaching so that I could focus on the coaching.
As you know from the previous articles, there will be fieldwork. The fieldwork this time will be that of being of service to your community through contribution.
Tell us your stories about your first client engagement and the tips and tools that will help other coaches going through the same things.
What are your words of advice for the new coaches coming up or the coaches looking to improve their systems for client engagement and retention?
Post your contributory fieldwork on the choice Facebook page
We hope this helps you relax about the management aspect of your business and gives you more time to coach.
If you want to have a GPS for your business and move away from the noise and busy-ness of the outside world, watch for the Whole coach assessment – a key piece of the choice Interactive Membership.
