What Can you ADD?

“We have more than we use.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
I like to think in terms of addition rather than subtraction. For example when I start looking at what I am eating and want to change bad habits, it doesn’t help me to look at what I have to take away. I respond much better by looking at what I can add. Adding good habits will make it harder to hold on to bad habits. But don’t let them go because you have to, let them go because they fall off. I love Popeye’s Chicken and if you told me I could never have it again, I’m sure I would immediately get depressed. But out of creating a better habit, Popeye’s only occurs every so often. Get excited about what you can create in your life and move towards that. Watch less TV because you have filled up your time with other things and you just don’t have the time to watch TV. Add value and you wont feel like you’re losing something. I think that is the downfall when you set yourself up to feel deprived, there is a part of us that automatically wants to rebel. Nobody wants to be told what to do even if it’s you thats doing the telling. So think about addition, think about what you could do to add value to your life. Get creative and have fun!
