I’m a New Yorker and a die-hard Knicks fan… so first, let’s have a moment of silence and thank God for Jeremy Lin.

That being said, I’m not all that surprised at the rise of an Asian-American hoop phenom. There have been breakout players – underdogs who carve out new ground – in all American sports, You could even say that we are a nation of breakout underdogs in all disciplines. However, this fact becomes much more poignant and pointed in our age of social media.
