Three Must Have's for a Great Interview
When you are preparing for an interview, one of the most important things to focus on is how your expertise fits in with what the perspective employer is looking for. How you fit in and what you have to offer in order to solve their problem is all they are interested in, so it should be your main focus.
Here are three important areas for you to become comfortable with BEFORE you sit down with them for your interview.
1. Make sure you’ve done your homework on the company and what they are in business for. Read and understand their mission statement. Make sure their history and mission lines up with your goals and values.
2. If possible, do some research on others who are doing or used to do the same type of work for the company…see if they have a LinkedIn profile and read about their experience and the skills they’ve been endorsed for. This will give you a good idea of what the company is looking for.
3. Make sure you know what some of the successes of the company have been and what some of their growth initiatives are. These are great talking points to bring up during the interview and shows that you are interested in their future.
Know these things beforehand and you’ll be able to present yourself as someone who is not only knowledgeable but confident!
