Spring Cleaning to simplify your life

I love this time of the year. The trees and flowers are blooming and it’s also the perfect time to renew ourselves and our lives.
When you think of spring cleaning, you can’t just think of getting rid of the clutter and washing your curtains. There are so many other things which are just as important. Here are a few things that I recommend:1.- Eat more fresh organic fruits and vegetables. I love making a smoothie for breakfast every morning which includes: almond milk, kale, spinach, celery, apple, banana, hemp protein, flax seeds, etc. It tastes great!
2.- Get rid of Toxic relationships: people who just drain your energies, complaint too much, are too negative, or people who bring no value to your life. What if you can’t get rid of them because they are family members or coworkers? Then limit your interactions with these types of people and learn to say no when you want to say no. Learn to center yourself so that their negative words or comments don’t get to you. After all, you can change yourself and how you react to the situations in your life but you cannot change others.
3.- Get rid of Negative thought patterns. Robbin Sharma, author of “The monk who sold his ferrari” recommends using a rubber band in your wrist and pull it every time you experience a negative thought (your brain will associate it with pain and will learn to avoid the negative thought). This seems drastic but if you have persistent negative thoughts it’s definitely worth a try!
4.- Get rid of unhealthy behaviors: smoking, drinking, gambling, nail biting, etc. But also: working too much, taking care of everyone except you, trying to please everyone, complaining too much, etc. Concentrate your energies on reading good books, doing meditation, self-hypnosis, exercising and connecting with people who inspire you and motivate you. If these things fail, consider Hypnotherapy or Transformational Life Coaching to help you change your thought patterns and your behaviors.
