What Is Your Fulfilling Work?

What is your fulfilling work? Are you doing it or do you dream about what it may look like?
This morning I had a conversation with a friend and she was giving me some feedback on a recent e-zine article. She began to mention that many years ago, when she made a conscious decision to change careers, she got everything she asked for. She then went on to mention that was years ago and that this change was initially everything she wanted but now was no longer fulfilling.
When I asked her what would be she could not answer. I suspect it was because she has accepted that this is what it is until she retires and then, maybe, there will be a chance to try something else. For now she has stopped dreaming.
For a very long time I knew that I wanted something different but I was never quite sure what that would be. I was always open to opportunities and hoped that someday it would all click and that I would naturally figure out what I should be doing. After going through the process myself I can honestly say that without direction and an idea of where I was going things didn’t just fall into place as I expected. Once I became clear on what was important to me then the tables turned and it was as if events and situations magically presented themselves. I was dreaming and began allowing my dreams to take center stage as I expanded on those ideas.
Are you dreaming? Of anything? I sure hope so because those dreams are basis for ideas which can be explored, developed and move you into action. Dreams allow us to enter into conversations which are focused on the what’s next and what’s possible. They excite and energize.
The definition of fulfilling work takes a different form for each of us. For some this may be another position in their company, one where their talents may be better used. For others it could manifest as a side business creating another income stream and for another it may be a radical change towards becoming an entrepreneur with work which is based upon multiple streams of income or with all efforts dedicated to a single venture.
Whichever direction Your Fulfilling Work takes it is sure to be a transformational and exciting experience as you begin to open up to living your dreams and making them a reality.
