Spring is around the corner

Nature is ready to blossom, are you?
Though not visible to our eyes the earth is preparing to blossom into the light. Buds are showing on the trees and soon the first spring flowers will poke their heads out.
I am getting ready to get my hands dirty in our little garden. It is time for the soil to be prepared and the first seeds to be planted. The beds are all overgrown and need to be cleaned up. Good compost will be added to make it a futile ground for those little seeds to grow and flourish.
The more effort is put in at this time the more rewarding the harvest will be. Funny thing is, that it is hard to imagine when it is all grey and muddy out there in the garden that in 6 months from now this place will go off with life. Though, between now and then describes a whole process and no shortage of effort is required. Not all seeds will germinate and grow. When they do start growing close attention is necessary. Weeding, watering, nurturing you got to be on it. Along the way you learn about the different plants, you notice which once do really well and with other you notice that next season you might want to plant them somewhere differently. When you start harvesting the fruit of your labour- wow, what a rewarding gift. It is such a different experience eating the yummy food out of your garden then going shopping at the store for them!
I love the garden metaphor because it describes so eloquently the process that we have found ourselves in when we are ready to invite something new into our lives. It starts with an idea or a sense that you want change- a seed gets planted. Many urges come up that you want to follow, but you have to make a choice – which once do you REALLY want to pursue? Next you must create a space for the new to manifest itself. Do you have to let go of something that will not serve you in your growth? Or do you need to invite something into your life that will nourish you and allow you to be your best?
Once the change and growth is starting to happen for you, keep it going. Make sure that you pay close attention to what needs to be done to keep growing. Enjoy and be present to the process. Learn from your mistakes but don’t get discourage. And then – boom, you will come to a place when you know you made it. You are reaping the fruits of your labour – you created something new in your life!
So are YOU ready to blossom and birth something new into the world?
What seeds do you want to plant and what do you need to let go off in order to see them to grow?
Give yourself some time to ponder these questions. Observe what the natural world is teaching you. Be still and listen to what wants to emerge for you.
