Introducing PsychoSpiritual® Coaching by Dr. Daniel Shane Sheibani Davidson.
The PsychoSpiritual® approach to coaching is based on both traditional psychological theories as well as various spiritual tools to create awareness and tangible results. The difference between coaching and therapy is that in coaching we do not focus on talking about things. Instead we focus on achieving measurable results. These results are usually in the form of transformation; either in the form of content, life strategy or life context.
A PsychoSpiritual® coach initially takes an inventory of the client’s overall life state and self-perception of those states. In other words, similar to what a physician does in the process of history taking from a patient, the coach needs to spend adequate time understanding the details around the life of the individual in order to make a determination as to what the major issues at hand are. Another unique aspect to this coaching is to assess the perception of the client of those realities. The measures of success and happiness are relative and in order for the coach to become fully familiar with the client, the coach needs comprehend the values and measures that the client imposes on defining reality.
The coach then utilizes the full gamut of psychological theories in conjunction with the spiritual belief systems of the client in order to assess the causation of the client’s current state of life. This is akin to looking at an occurrence and contemplating and theorizing as to how the incident occurred in order for the current evidence to present itself the way it does.
This spiritual approach to coaching utilizes multitude of techniques including but not limited to hypnotherapy, meditation, imagery, metaphor, visualization, creative arts, awareness, intuition and inner attunement to achieve the intended results. While traditional psychotherapy works towards a greater understanding of the self on a more conscious level, the PsychoSpiritual® coach helps the client understand and put in perspective the current status of life and one’s overall current outcome as a reflection of the balance or imbalance between the client’s psychological mindset and spiritual beliefs.
The next aspect of the function of the coach in this technique is to identify the intended outcome and help create the strategy and the plan to achieve that outcome in a realistic and measurable manner.
Finally in a more macro-cosmic aspect, it incorporates coaching in creating a life-plan, strategy and road map with specific steps towards achieving the specific goals and outcomes that the individual is seeking both on a conscious as well as an unconscious level.
There are hundreds of spiritual belief systems that each have numerous variations. The state of the individual’s life most likely is a result of the application of the conscious thoughts in corroboration with the influence of the many spiritual beliefs at various levels of that individual’s consciousness. By helping the client reach-in and connect with the full gamut of the individual’s being, the client then can become aware of the factors that have various levels of influence on the creation of the person’s reality. By modifying some of these influences then, the individual can create measurable change in his/her life. Ultimately by combining these specific methodologies, the individual is able to take control of their life and be the master of his/her future outcome.
In addition to above, it is important to realize that Psychology and Medicine as sciences are still relatively in their infancy. There are an unlimited number of realities that have had anecdotal presence in human consciousness however have not yet been scientifically proven. Some of these include but are not limited to the concept of PsychoSpiritual® Attraction. This entails attracting into one’s reality those influences and experiences that one both consciously (psychologically) and unconsciously (spiritually) focuses on. By helping the clients align these foci and by practicing these alignment techniques on a routine basis, one hopes to help the client bring about a different, more ideal reality in that individual’s life.
PsychoSpiritual® healing is a holistic approach to helping a client taking into account all aspects of that human being’s existence; mental thought processes and psychology, belief structures and spirituality, somatic events and psychosomatic response of the body in addition to the physical realities which are based on physiological sciences and the individual’s anatomy.
In this article, Dr. Daniel Shane Sheibani Davidson, who has practiced as a physician and surgeon for decades introduces a specialty he has created and has been practicing for decades called Psychospiritual Coaching. Dr. Daniel Shane Sheibani Davidson is a creative, studious and curious scientist who has had a long tortuous journey through life as a physician and surgeon.
He has been practicing PsychoSpiritual® Coaching for decades. After years of this practice he coined and trademarked the term PsychoSpiritual® medicine/healing in 1996. That is, he recognized that we are not just our mind (psychology), our bodies (anatomy and physiology) but there is also a spiritual aspect to us. He has come to believe, practice and teach that to become able to achieve positive results in our life, we need to take constant, effective action in alignment with our PsychoSpiritual® reality. He has authored several books on this subject matter which are available on line at www.MyExpertMentor.com.
He is a PsychoSpiritual® Coach (www.PsychoSpiritual® Coach.com). He addresses a client’s both psychological aspect of being as well as the spiritual aspect of the person in his coaching. He is a coach, not a therapist or a psychologist; which means he is looking for results. It is not about “talking about things”, as is usually the case in therapy; but it is about making things happen. It is about creating measurable results. It is important for him that those that he works with succeed.
He helps his client-students align their mental beliefs and the spiritual aspect of their existence while they take concrete actions in their life in order for them to achieve life success.
Dr. Davidson trains qualified coaches and licenses them in the performance of this methodology and technique.
