Is your performance as an athlete jeopardized by your drinking habit? Alcohol and the athlete don't mix well.
Is your performance as an athlete jeopardized by your drinking habit?
As an avid swimmer and competitor I know what it takes to train and stay focused on my athletic goals. Staying in peak performance takes desire, strength and determination. The use of alcohol impedes one’s performance and undermines your training.
There is hope for athlete’s who struggle with their propensity for the bottle. The two don’t mix well, I know, I drank heavily for many years while staying in shape. Now I coach athlete’s through my 5 step process towards moderation.
This is how alcohol can effect your performance:
- Alcohol has the potential to reduce your performance by up to 11%.
- Alcohol depresses the immune system.
- Your twice as likely to become injured compared to non-drinkers.
- Alcohol reduces mental focus, causes sleep problems, increases feelings of fatigue and lowers pain tolerance.
- Alcohol delays your muscle recovery.
Through the coaching process we’ll take an honest look at what’s happening in your life and address the underlying reason why you drink.
I support and inspire my clients through my 5 step process towards moderation and self-management:
Step 1: Awareness
Step 2: Triggers
Step 3: Self-Accountability
Step 4: Self-Affirmation
Step 5: Maintaining the self-managed program
So if your tired of the struggle and your ready to perform at your peak, call me, it’s a courageous step.
