Awareness, Your Key to Powerful Choice

Higher self- awareness improves our ability to engage differently and influence more positively.
The concept of Awareness as a leadership skill is incredibly important in the work I do with my clients. All the work we do together starts with learning how to become more tuned in to how we are showing up in the engagements we have all day long.
Whether it is with your spouse or kids in the morning before school, or your direct reports, colleagues or corporate leaders, the more aware you are of what your core thoughts are at any given moment, the better you will be able to choose the core thoughts which yield the most effective engagement behaviors.
As John Maxwell says,…" leadership is about influence, nothing more, nothing less."
So when the pressure is on, how will being aware of your core thoughts lead to more influential engagements? Simple: when you are AWARE of how you are being, you can change, and act differently. If you are NOT aware, then you can’t.
I coach my clients to check in with their core thought energy on a regular basis throughout the day, so that they can begin to become more aware of what kinds of events shift their thinking. This leads to a much greater understanding of self – and a better chance that powerful, influential engagements will be a part of their routine.
