It is important to remember there is no prescription medication or medical procedure that exists or will ever exist that cures a lack of self-love.
It is important to remember there is no prescription medication or medical procedure that exists or will ever exist that cures a lack of self-love. There are many conflicting diets and dietary theories about what foods are right to eat and what foods are not good for you. It seems like every week there are new studies or evidence either supporting or arguing the effectiveness, benefits or safety of foods. The doctor says one thing while the scientist and nutritionist say another. What is the truth? With all of the confusion there is about food and nutrition, there is one unarguable truth and it’s quite simple…
Secondary (Physical) Foods
The food that we put into our body serves as our nourishment. It sustains us and keeps us alive by providing the elements of nutrition we need to survive. This type of food is in a physical form that we ingest into our body. Most people know that it is very important to consume a healthy balanced diet for optimal health and well-being. What most people don’t know when it comes to overall well-being, is that physical diet is actually secondary.
Primary (Non-Physical) Foods
Emotional, mental and spiritual health are all huge contributors to how you eat. When it comes to holistic health, these type of non-physical foods are called primary foods because they directly influence how you eat. Someone who is authentically happy with their life is going to eat much differently than someone who is miserable or hates themself. The sedentary overweight person who sits on the couch watching TV for hours a day will have a different diet than the active overweight person who takes an hour walk every day. Likewise, a person forcing themself to stay in a miserable relationship will have different eating habits than someone who is in a genuine loving relationship. Most people tend to either lash out at their loved ones or stuff their face with junk food as soon as they get home from a bad day at work. Prescription for Love
All aspects of career, relationship, physical activity, community, spirituality and even thinking patterns have a profound effect on what we eat, how we eat and why we eat the way we eat. Since primary food is a non-physical form of nourishment, it is vastly overlooked. Most doctors do not have the time to spend with each and every patient, so they cannot give the undivided listening attention needed to properly diagnose common conditions. This is the main reason why medication is overprescribed in the United States. It is important to remember there is no prescription medication or medical procedure that exists or will ever exist that cures a lack of self-love.
