Are You Happy?

The problem is we are not only giving the wrong answer, we are asking the wrong questions.
Here are the questions we should be asking;
So, are you happy? Do you wake every morning with a smile on your face? When someone asks, do you say ” I am great, Life is good.” Or, is your life filled with stress, anxiety, problems and drama? Are you asking, “Why me”?
We are, all of us, at this place in our life because of choices we have made. We are always asking should I? And, especially when things are not going well, we are giving the wrong answer. In fact we are usually giving the same answer to the same questions over and over again. The problem is we are not only giving the wrong answer, we are asking the wrong questions.
Here are the questions we should be asking;
Do I live my life in harmony with my spiritual/religious beliefs?
Being in conflict with those beliefs will create a state on emotional conflict not with others but with your self that can derail any plans or hopes. It is essential that you know and understand your true beliefs and align yourself with them. Those beliefs may well have changed over time.
Do I have balance in my life?
Living a life where one part of your life is controlling, dominating all others, you will feel that there is something missing. You may not understand exactly why but you will feel unfulfilled. Look at your life and see if there is balance. If work dominates your life to the exclusion of family, if you are obsessed with money and ignore you spiritual needs, if you don’t have time to love someone, then you are out of balance.
Am I living my values?
What are your values? Think about that. Your values have changed. What you held to most dear when you were 20 is not the same at 40. Once you redefine your values, and then ask yourself “Am I living my values?”
Am I open to change?
Change, that is what makes life most difficult. But change is inevitable.
If you are not waking each day with a smile, if you can’t say “Life is Great”, then answer those questions and make the changes in your life to bring back the Balance, the Harmony, the Values to your life.
Those are the questions we should be asking. When we can give a resounding yes to each of them, we will find balance, harmony, peace in our lives. We will face each day with a smile and happy positive thoughts. And the Universe will provide.
