And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Genesis 1:26 KJV
My goal is to empower children so they will excel beyond the world’s standards. I do so through various means including writing books.
This summer, I released my second book, Little Johnny’s Faith Adventures: Creation Curiosity! The book is about little Johnny, who goes on a question-fest to find out who created. I tell people it’s the familiar creation story told in a different way. You may say to yourself, “What’s the big deal? It’s the creation story all over again.”
There are two things I love about the book. First, the book rhymes. I love poetry, and it helps children to memorize. BUT, the stand out feature in the book is that your child can place their picture in the book. The book says,
God’s most special creation
Was man and woman formation.
This is how we came to be.
God created you and me.
On the next page, the child places a picture of himself or herself. Albeit a basic concept, understanding that God made us is very profound because the “Creator” determines the path of the created. That is who we are and our purpose.
Some people will tell our children that we came from monkeys (offensive), a big bang (really), and so on and so on. If you consider being created other than by God, you really have to think about whom you are and your purpose. Yet, with God as our Creator, who we are and our purpose have already been established. Goodbye confusion.
