Holistic Life Coaching can help you evaluate how you are unconsciously creating obstacles in your life.
Holistic life coaching incorporates a whole person approach. It considers the mind, body and spirit. Everything is interconnected. An imbalance in one area of your life, can negatively impact other areas. When working with a holistic life coach, you will have an opportunity to evaluate how you may be unconsciously creating obstacles in your life that prevent you from achieving your goals. You will explore what is occurring mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually, to gain awareness of what needs to change in order to get where you want to be. Self-awareness will empower you to resolve core issues and enable you to make remarkable changes in your life.
Why did you become a life coach?
Coaching is a natural extension of what I have always done professionally while training, teaching, mentoring and consulting others. Being a life coach provides a unique opportunity to integrate my resources, education, experience, skills and talent. I have found my passion in life and I consider it an honor to assist others on the path to discovering and pursuing theirs. All my life, I have been the person that people turned to for advice and encouragement. I consider that a great responsibility. It is no coincidence that I have always worked in a helping profession because I feel that my purpose on Earth is to help others. I genuinely want to see others excel and feel I have an innate ability to help them succeed.
How did you become a life coach?
At the beginning of my counseling graduate program, I came across an interesting article about coaching versus counseling. I learned how coaching could complement my work as a counselor. About a year later, I attended a life coaching workshop and acknowledged that it was becoming an active interest. Months later, I decided to complete a Holistic Life Coach certification course. Because I do not believe in recommending services that I would not utilize personally, I also began working with a personal life coach. I found the experience affirming, as it validated that becoming a life coach would be in perfect alignment with my future goals.
What is the difference between a life coach and a counselor?
There is a lot of confusion about the difference between life coaches and counselors. Life coaches and counselors serve an equally important purpose. Having received training in life coaching and counseling, I can honestly say that coaching and counseling are two members of the same family. Life coaches and counselors seek to build a collaborative relationship with clients to inspire progress. During times of transition, both can assist clients achieve their goals. Each may offer a range of services, or specialize in certain areas. Many of the services overlap, which is why a growing number of counselors are becoming life coaches (and vice versa). What life coaches are not trained to do, is assist clients with mental health issues. Life coaches will provide emotional support, but characteristically work with clients who are mentally healthy. Counselors have additional training to help those who may be experiencing mental health challenges.
