If you learn to change your thoughts, your reality will change and it is that simple.
Contrary to popular belief, the majority of clients do not come to Life Coaches due to issues concerning doubt, motivation, spiritual growth, career success, or guilt about their behavior. Clients’ access us for marital problems, depression, crises, interpersonal conflict and anxiety associated with life’s struggles. I have reached the conclusion that the only way for you to live a fully abundant life is to seek to live in alignment with your core values.
What is the Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) that I use with my clients? I do not use the traditional model; but rather a combination of challenging belief systems while introducing new ways of thinking and reacting to a thought or feeling based on your inner truths. My coaching approach is to help heal the whole person by incorporating the teachings of basic mindfulness techniques that introduce the concept of mind, and body awareness. This process actually changes how you think and feel.
CBT strongly borrows from the idea that how we think affects our physical reality and that thinking positive thoughts can alter our physical reality. Just as positive thoughts can heal, negative ones – including the belief we are susceptible to an illness or have been exposed to a toxic condition—can actually manifest the undesired realities of these things into our lives. Read this section again for clarity! You must accept that you can master your thoughts and control your chemistry; if you learn to change your thoughts, your reality will change and it is that simple. No matter how bad you feel, no matter what has happened to you; you can change your feelings; since feelings and emotions come from your thoughts and can be controlled by your thoughts.
Based on CBT, how you feel should never be an excuse for how you behave or for why you do what you do. By changing the way we think, our reality changes, our mental health changes, and our spiritual essence is more aligned with who we are. It helps you to recognize hidden harmful attitudes and beliefs, make wise decisions, learn how to motivate your inner resources to cope with a crisis, change your lifestyle, and learn effective coping skills. CBT is not for the faint of heart either because you will practice in and out the session to learn how to give up persisting hang-ups, stop dwelling on past memories, and eliminating attitudes that interfere with getting the life they want. Are you ready to use some practical tools that move you forward to where you want to be?
