Develping a personal brand is seeing an opportunity others overlook.
Consider your brand as an ‘investment’.
Obama and Romney have one thing in common. They have a personal brand.
Not only a personal brand impacts how we choose politicians, it also impacts your ability of getting hired.
The psychology of branding is to get people buy from you without having to ‘sell’ yourself. The power of a personal brand is to get the employer or the client see you as the only solution to their problems.
Know what you stand for. Do a SWOT analysis on yourself and develop your personal brand combining your strengths and opportunities, while recognizing your weaknesses and threats. Ask yourself: What do I want to be known for? What do I don’t want to be known for? Leverage every asset and pursue every opportunity. Find this expertise that makes you unique, that will connect you with the employer.
Develop your personal brand that reflects your uniqueness, increases your visibility, and keeps you in control of who you are and how you want others to perceive you.
If you don’t have a personal brand, start developing one now. Start raising awareness and generate interest on yourself.
