What is required of me when I hire Caroline as my coach?
Posted on October 25, 2012 by Caroline Oswald, One of Thousands of Life Coaches on Noomii.
So you know what you're getting yourself into
What is required of me when I hire Caroline as my coach:
-Assessment
-Unconditional Support
-An Agreement
-Plan of Action
-Workbook
What is the assessment?
This is where I will give you a set of assessment questionnaires to determine how I can best assist you. This information like all information you share with me is completely confidential and cannot be released or shared with anyone without your written permission. Any time you spend filling out assessments or completing coaching assignments is to be done on your own time and you will not be charged for it.
The assessment questionnaires are multiple-choice. When you click submit your test results will immediately be emailed to me. I request that you complete these questionnaires within 3 days of receiving them so I can begin preparing the materials I will need for our coaching sessions.
What is Unconditional Support?
Unconditional love is the kind of support that we know will always be there for us. It isn’t going to go anywhere regardless of what we say or do. This can come from ourselves, from God, from family members such as a spouse, children, parent, sibling, or a close friend, or it can even come from your life coach.
To succeed you are going to need at least once source of unconditional support. Some will choose more than one source but at least one source is required and should be drawn upon at least once a week or more if needed.
What is the Agreement?
The agreement is a piece of paper in which you list all the things you agree to do for yourself during this process of being coached. You will sign and date it.
Here is an example agreement:
1. I agree to be open to this process and will do my best through it and will stick with it until I’ve finished what I’ve set out to do.
2. I agree to make a set of goals to accomplish.
3. I agree to create a plan of action that I will take to achieve my goals.
4. I agree to give these matters consideration for ______ amount of time every day.
5. I agree to make a list of tools to handle this and will use them as needed.
6. I agree to use whatever tools, research, books and materials are available to get through this.
7. I agree to develop and use a list of tenants I will lead my life by.
By signing this agreement I agree to all terms within it.

Plan of Action:
A plan of action gives you a focused way of approaching the process of being coached. In essence the plan of action is the method for completing the goals we will create for you to get the most out of your coaching. The plan of action we create will be per issue. Once we have completed an issue we can then move on to the next issue and create a plan of action for it.
Although you and I may not communicate on a daily basis you will be in charge of completing daily tasks to meet each of the goals we’ve created for you. I recommend a minimum committment of one hour a day investment from you. It’s like learning a musical instrument, although the teacher only gives you a lesson once a week she expects you to practice the rest of the week on your own. It is your responsibility to do the work. I cannot do the work for you. If you are serious about making your life easier and better then you will do it. Period. The more you put into this the more you get out of it.
To complete our plan of action for you we will discuss our schedules and select the best times and methods for our interaction. Booking in advance assures you that I will have set the time aside for your coaching to give you the attention you deserve.
Note: If you work faster than our schedule that’s great! Just keep me informed of any assignments you’ve completed ahead of time so I can review them and adjust our coaching session accordingly.
For the workbook you will need:
-a Binder
-Hole puncher
-Clipboard
-Blank paper
-Pen
The binder will keep your notes organized. If you hole punch the paper before you write on it you won’t accidentally cut out words you’ve written. It’s important to use blank not lined paper because you need freedom to brainstorm, draw charts, etc. A clipboard is useful because it gives you a firm flat surface to write on wherever you are and then after you’re done writing you can store your notes in the binder.
And finally you are responsible for asking for clarification whenever you need it. If you are honest about your needs with yourself and with me we can accomplish a lot!
