Be Accountable!

When you are in a leadership role, accountability is an important trait. If you are not as accountable as you should be, get an accountability coach.
Being accountable is something that we all have to do at some point in our lives. This time comes more frequently when you are in a leadership role such as a supervisor, minister, or even a parent. The people in these roles have others that count on them for advice and guidance, so it is important that these leaders remain accountable.
Being accountable can be a momentous task, but we can certainly break it down to a smaller level. The easiest way to do this for most people is having some type of accountability partner. This could be anyone you trust, as long as you respect them enough to be open and honest with them. You should also admire them enough to value their opinion.
Once you have gotten clear on your goal, talk to your accountability partner. Tell them your goal, and when you will have it accomplished. Also discuss the steps you are going to take and when you are going to complete those. Make sure you and your partner both write these down.
Every time a deadline comes, contact your accountability partner to discuss your progress. Be truthful! This will mean nothing if you are not honest. If you have completed your goal, move on to the next one. If you didn’t, do not make excuses. Simply decide that you will make it a top priority and tell your partner your new goal, and move on. To make changes, there must be an action! A great way to make sure you take action is to have an accountability partner or coach.
