4 Fab Steps For Getting The Funk Junk Outta Your Life!
Mid-year or New Year, it doesn’t really matter when, we all get in funks from time to time. The New Year brings the realization of how much money we overspent on the holidays. Mid-year brings pause to what have I done all year.
Regardless of where your head may be, many of us find ourselves in “da’ funk” more often than not and can’t seem to climb out. We may look at the glass as half empty, face the fact that there’s only a few months left to make a difference in the year, or simply just avoid doing anything because, “What’s the point?”
Or, you could use these…
4 Easy Steps For Getting “Out Of da’ Funk and Into The Fab!”
1. Fight Ferociously – Roar like a lion, yell at yourself like your Mom does when she calls you by your first and middle name, and say enough is enough. Sieze the moment and declare, “I’m done.” No more hiding in the darkness of woes.
2. Unleash Untruths – Allow yourself to only buy into things that are true beyond a shadow of a doubt. Anything else is just your ego and that little “untruth fairy” sitting on your shoulders making up stories that won’t even get past the fact-finding editor-in-chief. Unless that editor is you with nothing better to do then believe the silly stories you habitually make up about yourself, without any burden of proof having been established.
3. Negate Negativity. No matter how much you believe you need your best girlfriend, desire to be in the inner circle at work, or don’t want to rock the boat with your significant other, if they are feeding you negativity, take a break from them. Negativity simply draws you down into the proverbial rabbit hole of FUNK. As hard as it may be to separate from the comfort of “being with peeps to be with peeps,” if they bring negativity into your life, then run, and run fast. The old adage rings true, “Negativity breeds Negativity.”
4. Knockout Knockoffs – Any thoughts, feelings, or emotions that give you counterfeit feelings of “happy, happy, joy, joy,” should be closely examined. Think of it like this. You rush into a store thinking its Prada, find a fab pair of shoes for $20! Fabulous! Then, you walk out of the store, look up at the storefront sign only to discover you actually got a great deal at “P-R-U-D-A” not “Prada.” Instead, of getting caught up in short lived false thoughts and emotions that can lead to lack luster results, take the time and shop deep inside yourself for the real “moments of truths” rather than settling for “in the moment” temporary feel goods!
Once you’ve fought ferociously, unleashed the untruths, negated the negativity, and knocked out the knock offs, then ask yourself this question, “Do I feel fabulous or what?” If your answer is “yes,” then wear that feeling like a pair of authentic Prada’s. If not, rinse and repeat, working your way back through the “Four Easy Steps For Getting Out Of Da’ Funk And Into The Fab.” After all, practice makes perfect!
