Today I want to look at a method that I learned many years ago and still use. It is what I do when I first awaken in the morning.
Snooze Button Meditation
I believe I create my day. And, living from an inside/out perspective, I get to choose the state in which I move into my day. I do that with two meditations – each one lasting the length of the snooze on my alarm – for me it is 10 minutes.
In the first meditation, I give thanks for everything I have. It is my time of gratitude for the amazing life I have, for all the incredible people, blessings … you get it.
In the second meditation, I create the space of BEing I will choose for the day. This is a place to come from, from the inside out! Usually it is three states of BEing … like Presence, Peace, and Courage … Love, Presence, and Confidence … Authenticity, Presence, and Action … you get the point.
As I breath deeply in, I feel each state of BEing enter me and it becomes a foundation for my day.
Then I get up and get going on my day … coming from this state of BEing!
And life comes at me … always! For the last little bit, presence and deepening my ability to be present has been very key in dealing with everything life is throwing at me … I will expound upon that in a future post … just know for me, without presence, I quickly go into my head and become very manic … yuck!!
This week, set your alarm two snooze cycles earlier than you normally do … see how your day shifts when you create from the inside out …
