The first thing you need to take a successful business to the next level is a clear and inspiring vision. (We will cover the other six in later issues.)
You need to have a clear and inspiring vision to keep you focused and on track; to keep you motivated and to inspire others to support you. The better your vision, the bigger your success. You will accomplish much, much more.
What is a vision
Vision is what it says – a very clear picture of the future. Visioning is the process of creating your vision. It describes, in fully emotive detail, the way it will be in the future when your business, team and even life are just how you want them. So this can be applied in any area of your life and business. Visioning is a big thing! Very big.
“Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare.” ~Japanese Proverb
“If you’re going to think at all – think BIG”. ~Donald Trump
Everything starts with a vision. It’s no secret. Columbus had one. John F. Kennedy had one. Thomas Jefferson had one. But when I say everything, I mean everything. Going to the store to buy a bottle of milk begins with a vision. It is so routine and swift and simple it’s practically unconscious.
Visions can be ill-conceived, unfocused and have important parts missing. They will lead to either poor results or no results at all. Therefore it is important that your vision be clear, focused and detailed. An effective vision is one that is inspiring. If it’s something you really, really want, it will motivate you and fill you with persistent energy.
So make your vision big. It’s better to have a great vision and achieve only 75% to 85% of it, then to achieve 100% of a mediocre vision.
The words vision and goal are almost synonyms.. A vision is a mental construct of what you want. Visions are like mental blueprints. A goal is a concept of what you need to do to achieve your vision. A vision is made up of many goals.
Components of an effective vision
To succeed in the outer, material world, you need a clear inner vision. This vision should include your ideal goal and a roadmap for reaching your goal.
