A Short Story about Being Intentional
I wanted to share a story about intention – so imagine if you will a 92 year old lady traveling by herself from California to Idaho for her grandsons college graduation….
She gets stuck in Utah on Friday and there are no flights out until Saturday mid-day after the graduation has already begun. She is in the airport wondering what to do, waiting patiently and thinking about “how” she is going to get to see her grandson graduate, she promised she’d be there. She over hears a conversation between two other people who are sitting close to her (she is 92 and said she had her hearing aids turned up all the way). She hears one of the men who is in his late 40’s saying he HAD to be in Idaho for his sons graduation by 7:00 am Saturday. She walked over to him, interrupted his conversation and told him she needed to get to Idaho too… Based on their join purpose of “getting to Idaho for graduation” and their intention to keep their promises – two TOTAL strangers joined forced …. within 1 hour they had:
1. rented a car
2. hit the road from S.L.C. to Idaho
3. by 5:30 am Saturday they reached their destination
4. When someone I know ask the grandmother what the gentleman’s name was she said, "you know I don’t think we introduced ourselves we were to busy talking about his son and my grandson and graduation from college
What do you see, hear, feel that occurred for these two people that they didn’t wait and took massive action in that very moment to keep their promises and how did them declaring out of nothing assist them in being in action?
