Acceptance is key when living with chronic pain. Acceptance of self and acceptance of circumstances. Have you ever noticed when you have a headache, the more you focus on it the worse it gets? I have learned that the more I resist my pain, the more difficulty I have dealing with it.
By shifting your focus from your pain, it may not go away but it will become more manageable to deal with. I know this because I speak from personal experience. I have been living with chronic pain for the last 15 years.
