See how cultivating contentment in your life will accelerate your manifesting power!
When we talk about using the Law of Attraction to manifest our heart’s desires it’s easy to overlook all that we have already created in our lives. Sometimes, we can become like a child in a toy shop, looking at all the shiny, pretty toys, and forget how much we once loved the ones we already have at home.
I am at a point in my life where I have little desire for shiny, new toys. The desires in my heart these days are tied to my life purpose. My strongest, deepest desire at the moment is to continue to build my Life Coaching practice so that I can teach people all over the world how to manifest their dreams. It’s what gives me passion and gets me excited when I get up in the morning. As my practice grows, I hope to one day be giving motivational speeches and workshops all across the globe, authoring several books, and making a difference in people’s lives.
However, there was a time when my desires were much more material in nature. When I looked around at my life, I felt a deep sense of discontentment. I was unhappy with my home, my car, my wardrobe, my hairstyle, etc., etc. I was so focused on what I did not have, that I could not see how fortunate and blessed I truly was. When we become entrapped in feeling lack, we only get more of the same. Not enough of anything. Or settling for less than what we truly want.
When I look around at my life today I feel so deeply content that I have a difficult time thinking of things I want to manifest. I have learned that when I tap into my authentic desires I can manifest easily and almost effortlessly. Sometimes these are for a material object, such as a new bike, sometimes for an experience, such as a vacation. Mostly though, my authentic desires are for a certain feeling. I can manifest the feeling of abundance and prosperity by recognizing how well I am already cared for by the Universe. I can manifest the feeling of health and wellness by choosing to immerse myself in nourishing care. And, I can manifest the feeling of contentment by choosing to be grateful for all the wonderful gifts I have in my life.
I am grateful for the home the I have manifested, the car that I attracted into my reality, the relationships I have co-created, and the life purpose I have chosen. I am content with my life on a very deep level. When something pops into my consciousness and I think “wow, that would be nice to have, or experience” I know without a doubt that I can manifest it into my reality. That assurance makes me very mindful about what I choose to manifest. I always try to imagine how having that thing or experience may impact my life. There is truth to the saying “be careful what you wish for, because you may just get it”.
To cultivate contentment in your life, you must first realize what an incredibly powerful creator you really are. Everything you have in your life is a direct result of choices you have made. Whether those choices turned out to be for the better or the worse, they were your choices. The beauty is that we get to continue to make choices that will create our reality. If we chose poorly in a past relationship, we can learn from that and choose a healthier relationship in the future. If we chose an unfulfilling career because it paid well, we can choose to transition into a new, more fulfilling career. Once we realize that we have power over our life, we can begin to find gratitude for the circumstances we have created because they have lessons to teach us. No good or bad thing happens without being a teacher to our soul. We must look for the lessons to truly cultivate contentment.
We can further cultivate contentment by looking at our lives from a higher perspective. Would owning a mansion really bring you contentment? How about a shiny sports car, in-ground pool, or luxury vacation? These things are all wonderful to have and may bring temporary happiness. But how long did it take after your last vacation before you became discontented with your life again… and began planning your next escape?
When we can look at our life from a higher perspective, we begin to see what things bring us lasting contentment, and which ones are only fleeting thrills. When we can tap into those things that bring us true contentment, we begin to manifest from a place of gratitude and abundance. Only then does manifesting material things become effortless. It’s almost as if once you no longer care whether or not you ever get a sports car that you can finally manifest one into your life!!!
There was probably a time when you first moved into your apartment or home that you felt very grateful for a roof over your head. You were excited to have your own space. You were happy to be across from the park , close to a bus stop, or near your favorite shop. But, as time went on, you became discontented with your surroundings and began to long for something better. You looked around and all you saw were the leaky faucet, the cracks in the plaster, and the annoying sound the furnace made whenever it kicked on. You became focused on what you did not like, and felt lack in your circumstances. When you tried to manifest from this state of discontent, you may have experienced frustrating results.
However, if you could remember the moment in time when you felt grateful for your home, vividly recalling how excited you were to have your new place, give thanks for the blessing it has been to you, you now open up the channels to manifesting a new reality. You release yourself from the bondage of discontentment through gratitude. And in doing so, you remove the energetic blocks to attracting the new place your heart desires. Through cultivating contentment you are essentially saying “I am very thankful for what I have already created in my life. In fact, I am so thankful that I would like to see what else I may create.” This mindset takes you from one where you are a victim of circumstances, to one where you are a powerful creator. Once you connect with that power on a conscious level, there is no stopping your ability to create a reality that reflects your most authentic longings and desires. Practice cultivating contentment in your life and see how easy your true heart’s desires manifest!
