FEEL GOOD FACTOR IS JUST THE BEGINNING

The combination of my skills as an exercise consultant and wellness coach gives me the opportunity to work with people holistically
By holistically I mean inclusively. Some will work on their health from the outside/in and others inside/out. Either way body and mind work together, thoughts are behind actions, beliefs are behind thoughts. Those who come to my already established exercise classes know that I am results orientated and that what is presented to them in a simple exercise class can act as a part of a bigger plan to their better health. If they are not getting the results they came for then together we need to come up with another plan that will. I am a believer that if you have to use up energy be it mental or physical then you best get some results for your efforts. I have met many people who join a class, group or gym and psychologically that makes them feel good. They feel an instant success in acting on their intentions which is a great start and an important step. The ‘feel good’ factor however can be just the beginning as it is the emotional part of your decision. Heads of advertising departments are masters of this strategy, they know we make rash/random impulse purchases based on a clever marketing campaign that hits the brain with as much emotional impact as possible yet all done quite subliminally. We are driven by emotions whether you want to admit it or not, so finding something which ‘excites’ you or motivates you to achieve what you are looking for is paramount to your success. However been driven by emotions alone seldom gives the desired results without a good logical plan complimenting your first initial brave step. Victims of exercise gadjits which are now stored under the bed gathering dust will relate to this. (The gadjits not the victims!) To achieve a successful maintenance plan requires some conscious effort and thought. If you don’t have an instructor or a coach who is attuned to the sort of on going help you need and you are not capable of it yourself, then you will have a higher chance of a return to old habits and signing up for that new membership or class may all be in vain. How many times have we all done it – started or purchased something new thinking that it’s going to be the quick fix to a nagging problem? As consumers we love the idea of quick fixes and there is plenty of people out there ready to pounce and take advantage of our weaknesses which we can be blind too. Aim to create a ‘new’ mind set to compliment your New Year’s goal plan and you will have a much firmer platform from which to achieve success. So if your current strategies are not working for you then please pick up the phone and call me, my group fitness classes, rehab classes or lifestyle coaching is for real down to earth people who want real results. Its for people who are prepared to make changes in order to be in better shape/health/wellbeing. www.noomi.com, An American data base of Coaches that I am registered with recently had exposure in The New York Times, here is an excerpt from that article dated 27 January 2012 which I believe sums up what Wellness Coaching is all about – letting people like me help you help yourself.
“The cornerstone principle of coaching is you and I are already whole, resourceful, capable and creative,” said Ms. Harvey, who runs Invite Change, a Seattle-based coach training firm. “Coaching is strictly peer to peer, expert to expert.” And it is “distinct from other disciplines such as consulting, mentoring or counseling”
