Are you maximizing LinkedIn for your Business?

Sure you might have a LinkedIn account. What about your business? What about your products? What about your services?
Sure you might have a LinkedIn account.
- What about your business?
- What about your products?
- What about your services?
If you are on LinkedIn and using is properly, you know the incredible impact this service can have on your business and career. (If you are on LinkedIn and don’t see the value, we should connect and talk about how you may be under-utilizing this tool).
- Did you know you can create a Company Page for your business on LinkedIn?
- Did you know you can create a page for each of your products on LinkedIn?
- Did you know you can create a page for each of your services on LinkedIn?
- Did you know that you can collect recommendations from professionals for each of these services or products then share this information on your website, blog — even emails — to prospective customers? (and these customers don’t even need to a member of LinkedIn to see these recommendations?)
- Did you know this is all free?
Case Study: Noomii.com
As I write this article, I will use as an example of under-utilizing the power of LinkedIn, this webservice: Noomii.com. You can see that Noomii has a Company page on LinkedIn and employees are listed but there are no services or products listed (see http://www.linkedin.com/company/433113).
Noomii does have three services it offers: Basic, Premium and Premium Plus (see http://www.noomii.com/pricing). And Noomii has a clear description and outline for what you get for each of these services — all put out in a nifty comparison chart on the pricing page.
Now imagine if there was a row on Noomii’s pricing page — I’ll call it recommendations — and in each of the three columns (for each service) there was a LinkedIn Recommendations Button showing how many coaches recommended each service. And a person could click on that button, a new window would open and the prospective customer would see hundreds of recommendations from professionals for each service.
Do you think that would be compelling call to action for the prospective customer?
Imagine what this could do for your business.
So what work does Noomii need to do to make this happen — what do you need to make this happen for your business?
- Log on to LinkedIn and go to your Company Page. (If you don’t have a Company Page, create one — get the full scoop here: http://learn.linkedin.com/company-pages/)
- You will see a tabs for Overview – Careers – Services – Analytics. Click on the Services tab. Then on the Admin Tools button and select “Add a product or service.”
- Copy and paste your text from your existing website into the form fields. You can even add a picture, a youtube video, special offers and more. Identify someone (probably you) as a contact for your company. Include the specific URL for your product or service page.
- Click Save.
That’s it. You are done.
Now you can easily insert the Recommendations Button for your service (LinkedIn calls it a widget) everywhere. All you need to know is your Company ID (you can see it in your URL. Noomii’s LinkedIn URL is http://www.linkedin.com/company/433113; their company ID is 433113) and your Product ID (in the URL for each product / service just like your Company ID).
