From an early age, many women are taught to be “good girls.” We’re praised for being quiet, polite, and selfless. We’re encouraged to put others first and avoid making waves. While these traits can foster kindness and empathy, they can also become cages, keeping us from living authentically and fully.
This “good girl” conditioning often leads to cycles of overgiving, undervaluing ourselves, and feeling stuck. The more we try to please, the more disconnected we become from our own needs and desires. But breaking free from these patterns is possible.
When we understand how deeply these beliefs are woven into our lives, we gain the clarity to question them. What if we could embrace a new narrative—one where we prioritise our values and dreams, not out of defiance but out of self-honouring? This shift doesn’t reject kindness or empathy; it reclaims them as gifts we offer from a place of choice, not obligation.
