Finding Best Work For Me.

I want to be able to determine what is the best route for me in work and how to find that work.
Seema, age 42, married and staying in Philippines wanted to get a high paying job. She is an expat and lives happily. Highly educated, but wanting to find a job now.
When Seema approached me for coaching, through a strong referral, I hardly knew about her. She was a strong dynamic person, who was looking for work opportunities. Before migrating to Philippines, she was senior manager at a private bank and doing very well.
What Seema wanted is a similar high paying job, which is in line with her experience. This is the expectation of many who migrate to a different country and looking for restarting their career, post settling down.
Well, it could be quite a task to find job in a new city, the steps remain almost the same. And the first step in all, according to me, is to know your location.
When I say location, I mean where you stand currently. An honest evaluation of your current location is what really helps. A coaching conversation can lead to such evaluation as the coach starts gathering information out of curiosity, without putting the other down. The goal is to get as close to reality as possible. Because only when you are aware of your reality, change is a possibility or else you would be just aimlessly shooting. And with no luck, you would end up frustrating yourself on this.
The next step is what have been your experiences before coming to this place. This could be those defining moments which makes you who you are at this time. It is important to remember our roots, our experiences, our history.
And the final step would be to know where you want to be, with whom you want to be there, what you want to do once you reach there. All these parameters help understand what your goals are. Once you are done with these three steps, the next one without fail, would be to learn to meditate.
I do not know why many coaches fail to teach their clients to meditate. A simple act of sitting in silence can mean wonders to their career. Really, I have seen so many of them fly away with great colours. If you want to be like this one, you have to meditate, and meditate in the right way.
Well, to sum it up, know where you are, where you come from and where you want to go and life would be easy. This comes along with the coach, who through his curious questioning helps you arrive at your destination, faster than you ever thought of.
