Your life isn’t shaped by what you want; it’s shaped by what you do repeatedly.

How do we end up shaping the life we don't want? And what’s the first intentional step out of it?
Me: I want a dream job.
Also me: Stay in the “good enough job” for years because, hey, it pays the bills.
Me: I want a better salary.
Also me: Never ask for a raise or promotion. “They’re cutting people anyway—I should just be grateful I have a job.”
Me: I want meaningful friendships.
Also me: Watch Netflix at home and ghost all social invites.
Me: I want work-life balance.
Also me: Work overtime, answer emails on weekends, and wonder why I’m always exhausted.
Me: I want to travel the world.
Also me: Stay put because “What if something goes wrong? Better safe than sorry.”
Me: I see myself dining at the finest restaurants.
Also me: Drive-thru McDonald’s because “Who has time for fine dining? Life’s too busy.”
I think you get the picture.
If you see yourself in any of these, isn’t it time to rethink things?
Questions to ask yourself if you feel like it’s time for a change:
How do your current habits reflect your deepest values and priorities?
What patterns in your daily life are holding you back from the life you envision?
What’s the true cost of staying where you are versus taking that first step toward change?
What’s one small, meaningful action you can take today to get closer to the life you want?
