Carving Out Time for Yourself - You're Worth It!

In order to effectively deal with the challenges life throws my way, I needed to nurture my physical, emotional and spiritual self.
One of the biggest lessons I learned is that “ME TIME” is not a luxury BUT a NECESSITY! You heard me right, a* NECESSITY! *I discovered that in order to effectively deal with the challenges life throws my way, I needed to nurture my physical, emotional and spiritual self.
I am so much more effective, calm and efficient when I carve out TIME FOR MYSELF.
I used to believe I didn’t have time in my schedule to focus on me! My excuses included, I had a household to run, a business to build, 2 kids that need lots of attention. Spending time nurturing myself seemed decadent, frivolous and indulgent.
By focusing on everyone else’s needs but my own, I found myself exhausted and impatient. I finally realized that in order to be the loving wife and the effective parent and role model for my kids, it was imperative to take care of myself. I started scheduling some time into my week, like an appointment, and over time I found I had much more to give back to those I loved.
I invite you to find two 30 minute periods during the week that are set aside just for you to relax and nurture yourself.
Some examples of “ME TIME” activities are:
- meditation
- reading
- enjoying a steaming cup of tea
- a hot bath
- a nice walk
- a great movie
- exercise
How are you going to spend your “ME TIME” this week?
