The Importance of Breathwork as a Self-Care Practice.
Inhale. Exhale.
The awareness of our breath is a way in which we can offer a comprehensive form of self-care for ourselves through the day.
I was having a conversation with a colleague this morning, and we spoke of how through becoming aware of your breath, you’ll find times where you’re holding your breath… for no reason whatsoever.
Now imagine that you’re in the midst of a high stress day; holding your breath randomly will not help you through it.
Incorporating the awareness of your breathing in moments of stress, as well as clarity will act as the tool to deescalating the inner, or external havoc.
Starting with two minutes, time yourself. Inhale deeply, count five seconds, and exhale. Feel the moment, reset, and repeat.
Whether you’re able to incorporate aromatherapy into the moment, or take those concentrated breaths in a high stress moment, you’ll notice the difference.
