Nina Cherry Medical Bio

As a CEO strategist and trained wellness expert with over 30 years’ experience, Nina supports doctors, nurses, medical leaders, and their teams.
Nina was born and raised in a medical family in Honolulu. Her father, Dr. James Cherry, was CEO of Straub Clinic and Chief/Assistant Chief of Surgery at Queen’s Medical Center and many other hospitals on O’ahu, including Tripler Army Hospital. Her mother, Hilde Cherry, was an ICU nurse at Queen’s with a master’s from Yale. One of Nina’s first jobs was in the business office at Queen’s Hospital where she was trained in patient billing and data processing.
Nina was the care manager for an in-home care agency for three years and had 90 patients at any time. She hired and trained all the caregivers, and planned each patient’s care with the doctors and Hospice staff. As a healthcare practioner herself, Nina gave 4,000 massages during her many years as an LMT, including to Oympic athletes. She had a massage school in Eugene, Oregon, offering classes certified by the Oregon State Board of Massage.
During her 30-year career, Nina has trained hundreds of professionals in leadership and communication skills in the U.S. and Brazil. As a therapist in private practice for two decades, she worked one-on-one with clients and led a multitude of trainings for psychologists, doctors, and clergy. Nina has a B.A. in H.R. Management and graduated from Corporate Coach University in 2001. She is a certified therapist and teacher for the Hakomi Institute of Experiential Psychotherapy. She is an ICF certified coach (International Coach Federation.)
