The thing about success that no one talks about

Everything you’ve been told about what success means is outdated, and it only works if you’re wiling to give up who you truly are...
We’ve all been made to think that to be successful you need to…
- work hard at any cost, even if it means sacrificing your health and time with family
- follow formulas and not allow your personality to stand out
- be tough and disregard your emotions, intuition and values
- be loud, ruthless, and pushy without considering how it comes across to your audience, clients or customers
And when one day you find yourself burnt out, lost, miserable, and resentful about doing something you once loved, you start to feel there’s something wrong with you.
You’re thinking: “I’m just not meant to be successful." “I just can’t make it.” I’m not cut out for success."
Or even worse, you feel you’ve spent your best life years living by someone else’s standards and expectations.
The truth it was NEVER you that was the problem.
Everything you’ve been told about what success means is outdated, and it only works if you’re wiling to give up the unique values, talents and creativity you’ve been given in this precious life.
All the time I speak with brilliant women entrepreneurs and business owners who feel like they’re failing because they don’t fit in the small narrow definition of what success should look like.
I was one of these women.
According to the classical music industry I had very narrow possible carer paths I could take if I wanted to achieve success.
I still remember clearly. the last few days of my last year of college, walking around campus, feeling completely lost, and hopeless as I realized I didn’t want to follow any one of the expected paths.
I knew that in order to be happy, I’d have to create my own definition of success but I had no idea what that would look like.
It took me more than a decade of soul searching and blindly and patiently trusting my own inner voice, to uncover what success looks like to me.
The thing that no-one talks about, and the thing that helped me create my own definition of success and fully live in it, is a committed and dedicated practice of Self-Love, Self-Trust and Self-Compassion.
Profound Self-Love is the true foundation of a thriving, long-lasting success in any business, profession or career.
Self-Love is the fuel that makes you keep trying new fearless ways of showing up and connecting to your audience, customers and clients.
It’s what makes you take big bold steps in growing who you are and how you impact the world.
It’s what creates a business that’s an extension of you, where people are drawn to you because you radiate authenticity and heart.
Most importantly, approaching your business from a place of Self-Love keeps you:
- true to who you are, so it makes competition irrelevant
- whole, happy, and nurtured so you always see any perceived failures as inspiring lessons
- having fun sharing who you are with the world as you fulfill your life’s purpose
If you too are feeling stuck in a narrow definition of success, I promise you you’re not alone.
Help is easier than you think.
If you want to have someone to speak with and help you make a plan to create your own definition of success reach out to me, and I’ll be happy to support you!
Much love,
