There is no true joy without Christ
I think the main thing we need to learn from Adam and Eve is that we, even today, listen to and believe Satan, and then it results in our downfall. Our whole life on earth, nothing, apart from God Himself, comes with only good. Every single thing in life on this earth has positives and negatives associated with it because our existence is tainted on earth due to the first sin in the garden of Eden. Think about it, you buy a new car and you are happy for the first few months but when it gets a scratch, dent or breaks down, it’s the negative side. You buy a new house but once you need to maintain it, you see the negative side. We chase so many materialistic things because we think it will bring us joy, but there is ONLY true joy found in Jesus. The rest is temporary and an illusion.
We can therefore always be filled with joy in our hearts with the promise that one day, when we are with our Lord and Saviour, EVERYTHING will only be positive and good and the best news is we can feel and accept that NOW already.
Our downfall will always be to listen to Satan, our saving grace will always be to only turn to Jesus Christ.
