Who do you run to, to validate your worth?

Have you ever asked yourself where do you run to, to validate your worth? Or Who do you run to, to validate your worth?
We find ourselves miserable if a certain person whose opinion matters to us, says something negative about what we do/wear/say etc. We are in a constant rat race to prove ourselves to others. If it isn’t our own family members or friends, it might be our boss. Yes, it is nice to feel appreciated and get that verbal “atta girl/boy”, but why is it that our whole world crumbles when one person or even many PEOPLE have negative opinions about us? Why is it that we are in this constant chase of finding our worth in someone else’s opinion of us, when we have already been deemed worthy by the Creator Himself? Isn’t His opinion of you, the only one that should matter?
What does God say in the Bible about our worth:
We are God’s MASTERPIECE.
Ephesians 2:10 reads: “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
We are FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY made
Psalm 139:14 reads: “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
We are made a LITTLE LOWER THAN GOD
Psalm 8 verse 4-6 reads: “..what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor. You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority..”
God deemed us so worthy; He sent His only son to die for our sins
Romans 5:8 reads: “But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners”
The Bible is FULL of verses that show us just how much God loves. When we place our worth in someone else’s hands, other than God, you are making a flawed human with a different set of experiences and blueprints, the deciding factor for your happiness and worth. No human opinion can EVER replace God’s opinion over us, but we seek to HEAR a human’s approval over God’s.
Perhaps it is time that you seek to HEAR God’s voice instead. Yes, God speaks through people too but that is just the point; God’s voice is calm, loving, uplifting, reassuring, caring and He steers you. He convicts you but doesn’t condemn you. If the voice you hear is breaking you down, making you feel ashamed, worthless, less than and CONDEMNS you, that voice, my friend, is not God’s voice.
When God says: “First seek the Kingdom of God”, He truly wants to be the One you run to for EVERYTHING and that especially includes your self-worth. He wants to help you mute all the other voices, so only His voice comes through. He WANTS you to hear His voice as His voice carries the TRUTH about you. Stop running to others to validate who you are. Stop listening to the Enemy’s lies about you!
