5 Ways To Move The Muscle To Move Your Mind.

Your body language says a lot about your inner life. Try these five things to communicate more confidence, strength, velocity, and grace.
How are you facing your world today?
Check in with your body for a moment.
1. Eyes up scanning for opportunity or looking down avoiding others as uncomfortable threats?
2. Jaw clenched? Loosen up. Do something that makes you laugh… even if you’re not feeling it. There are studies that show fast marathoners are made even faster by relaxing their facial muscles by laughing.
3. Are you squeezing your shoulders up to your ears and rounding them defensively? Chest high, head up, eyes forward, shoulders back and relaxed please. Face your world like a prepared athlete and you’ll be more ready to respond accordingly. Challenges will become opportunities.
4. How are you walking? Is your step plodding, shuffling, and mindless? Or, is it nimble, light and purposeful? Move like ya mean it. YOU ARE A FORCE OF ENERGY!
5. How’s your breathing? Are you just reaching the top of your lungs? Fill those things up: top to bottom, front to back, side to side.
Having coached a handful of touring musicians, hundreds of endurance athletes, and thousands of hours of indoor cycling classes, I’ve learned to read what body language tells us about our inner worlds. When you need it, by simply adopting a more athletic physical stance, it’s possible to slightly shift that internal state.
Your body is an amazing engine of potential energy. Move the muscle, move the mind.
